Interactive Harassment Communication Training
This workshop will appeal to all executive/senior management and middle management employees.
November 1, 9am to 4pm and again
December 4, 9am to 4pm
The recent Isiah Thomas verdict for $11.6 million dollars, reminds us that employees need constant reinforcement as to what is and is not acceptable workplace behavior. This workshop will provide participants with the valuable knowledge, motivation and communication tools to ensure workplace compliance. It can be difficult for a manager to communicate why a particular behavior is or is not acceptable in the work environment. Learning to communicate company policies in an effective manner is an essential skill for managers and employees in order to ensure compliance.
Topics may include:
•Persuading difficult personalities to comply
•How to respond when an accusation is made
•Communication strategies for managers
•Defining harassment
•Understanding acceptable workplace behavior
•Retaliation
•Practice strategies
Sexual harassment is perhaps the fastest growing area of employment litigation and charge filings with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). According to the EEOC more than 12,000 harassment complaints were filed last year. “Monetary relief” for victims of sexual harassment charges with the EEOC in 2006 was 99.1 million and this does not include monetary benefits obtained through litigation.
Participants will be encouraged to e-mail questions to the course instructor in advance of the class without fear of being exposed.
