Dr. Christi Barb combines a doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology with research and her years of teaching experience in English as a Second Language. This know how uniquely qualifies her to strengthen the communication skills of non-native English speakers.

Most methods of accent reduction focus only on the production of individual speech sounds, Christi incorporates the overall communication process and sets the ultimate goal of accent reduction as effective communication. This customized, person centered approach helps clients achieve positive results. In addition, Christi incorporates content that is personally relevant to each client which helps to create an enjoyable and productive learning experience..In addition to the many individuals she has helped, Christi’s clients. include, Hawker Beechcraft, Wichita State University, and Kyungpook National University, Daegu, South Korea. Her teaching has taken her to sites in the United States and several foreign countries.

She has also worked extensively with members of the academic community, professors ,, administrators doctors and graduates in university hospitals. Christi’s experience is wide and varied, indeed..

Christi completed her undergraduate degree in English from the University of Kansas, and her graduate and doctorate degrees in Speech-Language Pathology from Wichita State University Christi’s warm and friendly personality compliments her professionalism and provides clients as well as colleagues, with a sense of confidence and competence..
